Vehicle rental FAQ

Where do I pick up my vehicle?
We will meet you at The Cruz Bay dock, National Park dock or The Creek with your rental vehicle . (The location depends on which passenger ferry or water taxi you take ) We also deliver vehicles to Cruz Bay hotels and The Westin, free of charge.

What time do you close?
We base our schedule around you, so let us know what time you land on St. Thomas and we will estimate which ferry you will catch. We will then plan to meet you at the appropriate dock with your vehicle . For arrivals after 8PM, we do have a late fee of $50.

Where do I return my vehicle ?
Please return the vehicle to the Sunshine's garage across from Dolphin Market (see your scheduled return time on your rental agreement-contact us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to change this return time)

Is an AWD vehicle just as good as a 4WD?
Yes, absolutely, they have just as much power.

Can I go "off roading" with the vehicle ?
We do not recommend this for your safety . Also, a tow truck coming to a remote location (if needed) will surely cost you much more!

What is the minimum age requirement?
25 years of age minimum to drive our vehicles

What is rental length minimum?
3 day minimum

Can I take the vehicle to another island besides St. John?
Our vehicles must stay on St. John only

What happens if I damage the vehicle?
You are expected to pay for any damages incurred during your rental and receive reimbursement from your insurance company directly. Our $1500 deductible must be paid by you when returning the vehicle.
